Dynamic channel and mobility control of packetized cellular radio networks (Dec. 1994 - Nov. 1998)

Funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Science Foundation)

Summary:

Models and algorithms are developed to support the efficient allocation of resources in hierarchical networks. In this project we focus on

a) stochastic channel models for randomly distributed stations taking account of fading, capture, and bit error rates

b) interference estimation and its influence on the channel quality

c) Speed and location tracking of mobiles for location dependent services and speed dependent handover control in hierarcichal cellular structures.
