Coding for Variable-Length Constrained Channels

Abstract:

A constrained channel allows the noiseless transmission of certain sequences of weighted symbols. Constrained coding consists in mapping a fair bit stream to valid sequences, with the objective to maximize the resulting information rate on the channel. In this talk, a new approach to constrained coding is presented.
